Thank you for submitting your outstanding work in the District VIII Communications Awards Program. Below are important details and guidelines for submissions.

Entry Deadline
The awards entry system opens Aug. 6, 2018 and will close at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific) on Oct. 17, 2018.

Entry Fees
$55 (US)/entry
Platinum categories are $125 (US)/entry

How to Enter

  1. Review the award categories and click on the appropriate category name.
  2. Log in with your CASE login to begin your entry. If you do not have a CASE login or do not remember your login, visit the account help page.
  3. Confirm your institution and complete the required questions for your entry. Some helpful tips:
  • You can save your entry as a draft and return later to complete. You will find drafts of all entries saved under "My Award Nominations." Click here to view all your entries and complete the payment process.
  • Your browser may 'time out' of the entry form if you remain on the same page for long periods of time without any activity. To avoid losing your work, we highly recommend 1) preparing your entry answers in a document and then pasting them into the online system, or 2) frequently saving your draft while completing your online entry.
  • We strongly encourage you to provide links to all supporting materials, rather than uploading large files. See more details below

4. If you encounter any issues submitting your entry nomination, please email awards@case.org.

Online Submission

  • All entries are submitted online.
  • We strongly recommend that all supporting materials (publications, photos, videos, etc.) be submitted as a link to the individual piece or to a publicly-accessible Google Drive or Dropbox folder containing the supporting materials. This makes the judging process easier versus uploading multiple files through the CASE entry system.
  • We recognize that your print entries could have special attributes that may not be represented adequately in a single image file. To help the judges get a complete sense of your work, you may also submit additional images or videos to highlight physical attributes of your entry, such as folds, die-cuts, packaging, foil-stamping or embossing. Please clearly label these files in a publicly-accessible Google Drive or Dropbox folder or url link.
  • Zipped files cannot be accepted.

File formats accepted

.jpg, .jpeg, .pdf — or link to digital publication [preferred]

  • If your entry has multiple components, please include individual files of each piece in a publicly-accessible Google Drive or Dropbox folder. Please name the files to clearly communicate the title of each piece.
  • Image files should be in RGB color mode, no smaller than 3 inches for the shortest dimension at 300 dpi.
  • PDFs should be saved using the High Quality Print setting.
  • As one of your shared files, please include a screen capture or still image that could be used to represent your entry in the awards brochure or slideshow. Please label this file "Awards featured image." The District VIII Communications Awards Committee reserves the right to select any of the uploaded images to feature.

File formats for video entries

Link to video (or .mov, .avi, .mp4, .wma)

  • We strongly recommend sharing a link (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo) to your video. Alternatively, upload video files to a publicly-accessible Google Drive or Dropbox folder and share the link in your entry abstract. Please clearly label the files.
  • As one of your shared files, please include a screen capture or still image that could be used to represent your entry in the awards brochure or slideshow. Please label this file "Awards featured image."
  • For larger videos, you may enter a link to your video instead of the actual video file.

Requirements for photography entries

  • Photos should be saved as Level 12 jpeg files, no more than 1500 pixels on the long edge, at 72 dpi. Photos should be saved in the SRGB color space.
  • Please share photos via a link to a publicly-accessible Google Drive or Dropbox folder or other online gallery.
  • Entries in the Series of Photographs category will only be judged as a body of work. A series is considered to be a group of four to ten images representing a single theme. Single photographs are not eligible for this category. Your entry may include a screen-resolution-quality PDF of the publication in which the photographs appeared.

Web-based Entries

  • All web-based/URL entries must be viewable in a common web browser and accessible via the Internet for 90 days after the final competition deadline. We are not responsible for tracking expired links, codes, etc.
  • When completing the online entry form, please include a complete and direct link where requested.
  • In the Instructions text box on the entry form, list any and all information needed by the judges for accessing the entry. Include direct links, passwords, codes, special instructions, etc.
  • You may upload an image file (.jpg or .jpeg) if necessary, of screen shots to assist the judges with accessing your entry.
