Newcomer Scholarships
CASE District VIII is offering five scholarships to enable newcomers in advancement to attend the Annual District Conference. These scholarships cover only registration fees for the conference. Lodging and travel to and from the conference must be covered by the individual or his/her institution.
The ideal applicant expresses a high degree of motivation and promise and is from an institution with limited resources for staff development. The CASE VIII Board of Directors’ policy prescribes that judges give special consideration to minorities and professionals from institutions who may otherwise not be able to attend.
Who is eligible?
- Any new professional (no more than three years of experience) who works in alumni administration, educational fundraising, institutional relations, periodicals, publications, or the management of these areas at a CASE member institution or at a non-profit organization affiliated with CASE as an Educational Associate.
- Any professional who has moved into a new professional area within the past three years. (For example, this means moving from one type of work to another within the same professional area — such as annual fund to planned giving; all within Advancement but within a different area with new/different responsibilities.)
- Previous winners are not eligible for this scholarship.
How do I apply?
To be considered for the scholarship, submit your completed application and required documentation by Friday, December 15, 2005 to the District VIII Committee on Opportunity & Equity Chair:
