Chief Advancement Officers Workshop

Dear Colleagues:

As you know, CASE District VII and District VIII are combining forces this year to present a unique, joint international conference for institutional advancement professionals:  “High Stakes Advancement” on December 2 – 5, 2007 at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.  In addition to the unprecedented array of track sessions for your entire advancement team, this year’s conference will feature a special pre-conference workshop designed especially for senior professionals like you.

On Sunday, December 2, you are invited to attend our exclusive Chief Advancement Officers Workshop, offering two important sessions for every key decision maker: “Alternatives to the Mega-Campaign in Major Gifts Fundraising” and “Institutional Rankings: Friend or Foe?”  The cost for this special three-hour workshop alone, including lunch, is only $75, a bargain price for the value.  Whether you attend only this workshop or register for the full conference which begins later that same afternoon ($495 Early Bird by October 5; $595 Regular by November 5), this is a great opportunity to network and learn among seasoned advancement professionals from 18 different states and Canadian provinces.

In addition, for those who wish to take advantage of Las Vegas’ spectacular winter weather, we will offer a special pre-conference golf package for Chief Advancement Officers on Saturday, December 1.  With a sufficient number responding, we will make reservations for you to play 18 holes at the beautiful Bali Hai golf course, the Las Vegas Strip’s only championship course, on Saturday afternoon, December 1, starting at 1:00 pm.  Cost is $250, including fees and golf cart.  Please let me know by September 28 if you’re interested in playing golf with other CAOs on December 1 (tomalley@sandiego.edu; 619-260-4770).

This year’s international, joint CASE District VII and District VIII conference is a terrific way for advancement professionals throughout your organization to participate in important interactive sessions about best practices, to avail themselves of lessons learned and strategies for success from seasoned professionals, and to interact with more than 1,000 peers and advancement colleagues from throughout the western United States and Canada.

I hope that you plan to this year’s CASE Conference in Las Vegas.  Find out more about the special Chief Advancement Officers Workshop and the entire conference program by clicking on www.case8.org/vegas.  And don’t forget to take advantage of discounted Early Bird registration by October 5.

I’m looking forward to seeing you in Las Vegas.

Tim O’Malley
